"Naturalizing the life of the horse is the only path leading to optimal health, happiness, and wellness." -Jill Willis. Foreword. The Natural Trim: Principles and Practice. By Jaime Jackson 2012
"Naturalizing the life of the horse"? What does that mean? It simply means providing for the horse its true biological needs- as best we can. The fact is, few of the most common and traditional horse care practices address even the most basic needs of the horse. Think about that...most common horse care practices do not even meet the horse's BASIC needs! My website is devoted to helping horses by raising people's awareness of how to provide holistic horse care based on the research of Jaime Jackson- veteran hoof care professional, lecturer, author, researcher, and noted expert on wild and domestic horse hooves.
I've found that many people believe they totally understand what "natural horse care" or "natural hoof care" are all about- UNTIL they are introduced to the actual facts and meanings of these terms. Then they either reject the NHC paradigm, or cautiously begin to seek more information. I cater to people who are seeking more information regarding the true nature of the horse, and how to apply that information to horses in their care- whether it be building a better relationship with their horse, or how to better address their horse care practices (i.e., a reasonably natural diet, natural boarding, natural horsemanship, and natural hoof care). By understanding and using these "Four Pillars" of Natural Horse Care (NHC), the basic needs of the horse can be met, resulting in a healthier, happier horse- and that, is priceless.
